Michigan received $ 6,000,000,000 exclusively for schools to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic and keep their schools open. The Daily Wire recently looked at how all states are using their ‘Covid-19’ boon and much of it has nothing to do with the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a report in Chalkbeat Detroit, âMichigan schools will receive between $ 93 and nearly $ 28,000 per student as part of the latest round of federal stimulus packages that are pumping massive sums into schools across the country to help them face the pandemic and reopen schools â.
In this article, they wrote:
On day one of his tenure, President Joe Biden told Americans that providing $ 130 billion in additional funding to schools through his American Rescue Plan (ARP) “would provide schools with the resources they need.” need to reopen safely … We can [open schools] if we give school districts, communities and states the clear guidance they need and the resources they will need.
Much of those Covid slush fund tax dollars are sent to schools through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER). I remind you that these funds were supposed to be, as a Detroit Chalkbeat publication writes, “an essential tool to help students navigate a period of historic upheaval.”
How have some Michigan schools spent their taxes on the Covid slush fund “to help students get through a time of historic upheaval”? The Daily Wire study said:
Michigan has promoted the use of an “equity lens” to allocate money, including spending it on “the professional development of all staff in socio-emotional learning, gender sensitive care. traumas and implicit prejudices â.
He said he would spend it on a Culturally Appropriate School Leadership Institute (CRSLIA) academies program that “challenges whiteness and hegemonic epistemologies at school.”
Michigan schools that will open year 2022 – the third year of the coronavirus – online include Detroit, Ann Arbor, Oak Park, Lansing, Pontiac and Southfield.
They are receiving millions upon millions of dollars to deal with their Covid issues and, as Biden said, “to provide schools with the resources they need to reopen safely.” Apparently millions and millions of dollars are not enough.
To find out how much your Michigan school district received in tax dollars from the Covid slush fund, click on the previous link. Here are some examples of this database:
- Detroit received over $ 808 million
- Lansing Schools Received Over $ 67 Million
- Pontiac schools received more than $ 39 million
- Battle Creek Schools Received Over $ 32 Million
- Ann Arbor Schools Received Over $ 15 Million
- Southfield Schools Received Over $ 14 Million
- and Oak Park schools received $ 8 million
All of these school districts are closed for in-person instruction for the start of this 2022 school year or next week. I’m sure more will need to be added to this list, unfortunately for the kids. We have no idea when they plan to open.
All of these school districts should be forced to return their millions of dollars in slush fund taxes. Additionally, politicians who voted for these slush funds should be immediately removed from their elected seats for allowing them to spend our money on something other than solving the Covid issues they say they face.
