Shanghai noodle soup
When it comes to soups, most of us often opt for the usual soups – sweet and sour, chicken corn soup, Thai soup, etc.
At Shanghai Social, you might want to get out of your comfort zone and try Shanghai Noodle Soup. It is a creamy noodle soup made with lemongrass, chicken, blue ginger and a garnish of peanuts. Needless to say, it’s super delicious with that subtle hint of lemongrass followed by a balanced hit of creaminess.
Lemon and coriander soup
If you are someone who always adds extra cilantro and lemon to your food, this soup is for you.
Every bite of Lemon Cilantro Soup fills the mouth with a tangy, lemony kick that’s just right and not overpowering at all. Cilantro adds a sweet yet tangy flavor as well as that characteristic herbal freshness that makes it so well balanced. It’s an exotic mix of ground chicken, lemon, cilantro, green beans, carrots and eggs, perfect for chilly nights.
Crispy breaded chicken
Chicken is such a versatile ingredient that tastes so good in all its forms, but nothing beats crispy chicken. This crispy breaded chicken at Shanghai Social is a unique item on their menu which features fried breaded chicken served in a potato nest with a side of a hot and delicious mix of dried red chilies and peppercorns. The chicken is topped with a generous garnish of vegetables, including green onions and dried red peppers. Soft, tender bites of chicken in a crispy coating that you dip in a spicy, tangy sauce – Oh so good!
General Taos Chicken
Wok-fried chicken swimming in a soy-infused dark chili sauce, General Taos Chicken is every bit as good as you’d expect a chicken dish to be.
You’ll get a hint of spice in every bite, but it’s so well blended, and when paired with fried rice, the taste is just amazing.
Some might find it disappointing compared to the other wonderful items on the menu, but it certainly stands out from the pack.
Crispy Beef Mala
Beef, in all its glory, doesn’t get any better than this!
Crispy Mala Beef gives you pretty much everything you would want in a beef main course. It’s spicy, it’s sweet, it’s crispy, and best of all, it’s tossed with schezwan chili oil and bell peppers. If you are a beef lover, you have to try this dish at Shanghai Social because it is nothing but delicious!
Biang Biang noodles
All pasta and noodle lovers, this is completely your territory because if perfection could be shown in a picture, it would look something like this!
Biang Biang noodles are every noodle lover’s dream come true and I say that without any exaggeration. Hand-cut thick noodles with savory minced meat, which are tossed in a deeply aromatic, savory and spicy schezwan chili oil. It’s nothing like your usual noodle dishes and it’s just something extraordinary!
As an avid noodle lover, I swear to eat this bowl of culinary heaven for as long as I live.
For someone like me who has never been a fan of fancy drinks and beverages because nothing beats Coca-Cola (right?), this Lychee Martini drink blew my taste buds away!
It’s such a beautiful, delicious, and refreshing concoction of lychee, pineapple, and lime that’s blended together to perfection. It’s thick and creamy but so light you could definitely have two in one go!
Chocolate Nemesis Cake
The best way to end a superb gourmet affair is nothing better than a sweet treat, and when said sweet treat is this Chocolate Nemesis Cake, pray to the lord your taste buds survive because it’s SO GOOD!
This cake is one to beat because it’s perfection on a plate. A rich, decadent and luxurious chocolate cake paired with creamy, velvety vanilla bean ice cream topped with chopped candied walnuts – you’ll want to cry with happiness when you eat this cake.
These are just a few of the must-try items from the elaborate and diverse menu that Shanghai Social has to offer – there’s so much more to this worthy of a taste or two. So, try it for yourself and make your taste buds travel!
