Sufresca has developed an edible, biodegradable, water-based emulsion made from all-natural food ingredients with advanced modified atmosphere properties. When applied to a fresh fruit or vegetable, the solution creates a breathable coating. Minimal disturbances in the coating act as a partial barrier which allows optimal gas exchange. This slows down the post-harvest ripening and ripening processes, as well as the resulting degradation and rotting. This too solves the problems associated with the use of waterproof sealants.
This durable solution can extend shelf life up to several weeks, saving plastic packaging and extending shipping time.
