New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency claimed in its First Information Report (FIR) in relation to murder Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yuva Morcha, Praveen Nettaru, that the defendants had conspired to kill him “with the intention of spreading terror among the local residents”. The FIR was seen by HT.

Karnataka police had as of Thursday made three more arrests in the case in addition to the four people arrested earlier last month.

“On July 26, at 8:30 p.m., Nettaru had closed the chicken coop. He was about to cycle home and the complainant (a worker) had entered the store to bring a raincoat. During this time, the Complainant heard screaming outside the store and as he exited the store, he saw Nettaru lying on the road. He also found three assailants who were fleeing on bicycles with weapons in their hands. The plaintiff, on seeing Nettaru, discovered head injuries and rushed him to Pragathi Hospital, Puttur town, in an ambulance. The doctor declared him dead after examining him,” FIR said.
